Home Box Office (HBO) is one of the best streaming channels of all time. It has made a name in the entertainment industry with their iconic TV shows, movies, and other involvement. All the seasons were revolving around the illegal drug trade, education, and the local government. The shows had complex plots where the characters mostly used local slang jargons, which was not appropriate for certain audiences, but users could connect and relate to the situation that made it a realist show.

The writer’s past experiences made him inject impactful drama and thrill as he defines each character in the most idealistic manner possible. The Wire became the most important show for HBO that earned big money and source of relatability for the users till date.

Big Little Lies

This series is based in a small locality where the character of Reese Witherspoon (Madeline Martha) and her friend Nicole Kidman live fruitfully with their families. The novel adaptation of Liane Moriarty is a big hit. Both the characters produced the show and starred in the series of secrets and privacy hiding among the moms of society.

Big Little Lies slowly became an enticing TV show all due to the characters and the fantastic performance which till date is being used in memes. With Vallée’s killer soundtrack used in all the shows, the ambiance of the place lits up with gossipy exterior and a sensitive approach towards domestic abuse.

Sharp Objects

This is the adaptation of the Gillian Flynn’s (Gone Girl) novel where the charming Amy Adams’ returned to television after a long time. This show was directed by Big Little Lies’ Jean-Marc Vallee and writer Marti Noxon. The show follows about a troubled reporter who returns to her birthplace where she resided for a long time to see her messed up family that included her dramatic mother while looking into a murder case.

The atmosphere of Sharp Image has a grim that carefully sketches all the faults and multiple dark secrets the characters hide. The show was a well-written depiction of numerous lives of women and the trauma they have witnessed and inherited. HBO earned millions with the show and is still known to be their best-selling.

The Leftovers (2014-2017)

Among the lot, The Leftover is a big hit based on the Tom Perrotta novel where the entire series works on a “Sudden Departure,” and its aftermath. It was an unexplained event where 2% of the population vanishes and the remaining people trying to solve the puzzle. The drama is filled with puzzles, mystery, and suspense as the small-town sheriff and a grieving mother tries to pick up the pieces to solve the case.

The biggest recommendation of the show was when the first season didn’t deliver to its true hype and potential but the next season pulled it off with the showrunner Damon Lindelof (Lost) was trying to figure out the story he was narrating early on.

Game Of Thrones (2011-2019)

If you aren’t familiar with Game of Thrones (GOT) then my friend you are not from this world. The novel hit the bookshelves in the early 90s which created a flare in the masses, but it was D.B. Weiss and David Benioff’s adaption into a Television series that enlightened fans all over the world that made GOT the biggest HBO show of all time.
